Vaidya Purshottamshastris son Vaidya Madhusudan Nanal carried the tradition handed over to him even further. He was equally keen on Ayurvedic research. In the 1930s and 19408 he successfully experimented with cobra venom to help cure various diseases. He worked successfully with several plants, which are not mentioned in Ayurvedic textbooks. He was actively involved in research and management to cure diseases. He was also successful in preparing complex molecules of Rasashastra like Druti, Satwapatana, Agnisthayee Parada Grassa of Dhatu by Herbs and parenteral dosage forms etc. He used animal products extensively in his practice along with single herbs in a highly focused manner. Application of the texts to the situation was his forte. He was engaged in developing effective Ayurvedic contraceptives for females before his demise in 1979.
