Roots of The Nanal progeny goes back to eighteenth century, in 1893 when Vaidyabhooshana Purshottamshastri Nanal was born. After studying the traditional systems of Ayurveda and the Dashagrantha, he devoted his life to Ayurveda and spread its teachings all over the world. He knew that for survival of Ayurveda in modern times, the new approach must be backed up with a supporting education system. He played an important role in setting up three main pillars of Ayurveda system of medicine the Tilak Ayurveda College, Pune. The Sheth Tarachand Ramnath Hospital and Ayurveda Rasashala, where research and production of Ayurvedic medicines takes place. It was his foresight and constant undaunted belief that even in the modern world there is a rightful throne for Ayurveda.
